理大中华文化艺术坊以继承和推广中华文化活动为主要目的。理大中华文化艺术坊成立于2013年3月20日，核心宗旨为巩固中华民族鲜明的民族特色与传承博大精深和优良的文化、道德、艺术等。 

基于马来西亚的高等教育指标，理大中华文化艺术坊旨在全面性提高学生个人的发展与培育出更多全能 (H.E.B.A.T) 的大专生，即逻辑思维、智商 (IQ)、情商 (EQ)、逆商 (AQ)、德商 (MQ) 与体能等都有着良好水平。为促进艺术的发展，理大中华文化艺术坊亦提供良好平台让学生强化与提升对于中华文化的认知。

在这全球化的时代里，理大中华文化艺术坊通过组织各类活动、展览和表演来发扬中华文化暨艺术，增强各界对传统的文化、道德和艺术的知识。此外，理大中华文化艺术坊亦致力于孕育来自全马各地的华裔大专生对于中华文化传承的重要性，促通过筹备文化艺术类活动吸引更多志愿者，无形中为逐渐“年老化”的本地华团尽绵薄之力。


The Chinese Arts and Cultural Secretariat of USM (USM SKKT) has a main mission of inheriting and promoting activities related to the Chinese culture. USM SKKT, which was founded on the 20th of March 2013, has two core purposes, to consolidate the distinguishing features of the Chinese culture as well as to transmit the profound and good traditions. Grounded on the National Educational Philosophy, USM SKKT aims to develop individuals in an integrated manner and train more H.E.B.A.T. undergraduates, i.e. holistic, entrepreneur, balance, articulate, thinking, who portrays excellent performance in logical thinking, intelligence quotient (IQ), emotional intelligence (EQ), adversity quotient (AQ), moral intelligence quotient (MQ) and fitness.

To encourage the development of arts, USM SKKT provides an ideal platform for students to strengthen and enhance their knowledge about the Chinese arts and culture. In this era of globalisation, USM SKKT reinforces the public’s knowledge about the traditional arts and culture through various activities, exhibitions and performances to preserve the Chinese arts and culture.

以1V (Volunteerism) 3C (Cultural, Cultivation, Charity) 作为组织的核心价值，任何旗下活动的宗旨与目标都以 1V3C 作为出发点，主要是让大专生能够自发性地参与各项活动，从中培育人才及弘扬优良的传统文化、道德与艺术。此外，理大中华文化艺术坊也冀望得以提高现代年轻人对于中华文化的醒觉，让中华民族的文化瑰宝能够广为人知。理大中华文化艺术坊也志在强化对于社会的意识与责任，以实际行动在人力、物力、财力及时间上回馈社会有需要的人士，深谙“取之社会，用之社会”的理念。 


The core values of USM SKKT can be summarised as 1V3C, which stands for Volunteerism, Cultural, Cultivation, and Charity. With these core values to kick-start any activities organised by USM SKKT, the main message which we would like to accentuate is to encourage students to volunteer in event participation and to develop excellent individuals who propagate Chinese culture, morals and arts. This is also to increase the consciousness about the Chinese culture among the younger generation so that this precious gem can be more widely known. Besides, USM SKKT also strives to enhance the social awareness and fulfill the social responsibility to contribute to the society with real action in terms of providing manpower, financial support and time.

此训言精简有力地带出理大中华文化艺术坊的主旨及使命。如训言所示，我们理应秉持着热爱文化的精神，更深入了解中华文化的精髓，再把这份热爱渲染身边的每一位，甚至是散播到社会的每一个角落。中华文化流传至今已有五千年之久，能流传到世界的每个角落并常存到现在，莫过于“传承”二字。我们都有责任传承这份珍贵的文化瑰宝，且以这训言为纬，续传这份使命，把中华文化与艺术发扬光大。 


Our motto brings out the gist and the missions of USM SKKT. As the motto says, we should uphold the spirit of loving and understanding deeply about the quintessence of Chinese culture, then render this spirit to the public and the people around us. Chinese traditions and culture have been passed down for more than 5000 years and spread around the world. Therefore, as the motto goes, inheriting the cultural treasures is always our responsibility and mission.

OUR LOGO

徽标整体颜色以红色为主，代表着中华民族最喜欢的颜色，也是中华文化的象征。红色表达了坊员对中华文化的执着与追求的热忱，也带出了喜气洋洋、吉祥及热闹的氛围，成功表达了坊员在传承中华文化的当儿，也不忘乐在其中，寓工作于娱乐。

此外，以红色为主的徽标，论外型设计即同等于中华传统灯笼的设计概念。其设计以圆形的红灯笼为主，底部还带有彩带，原原本本地表露了中华最具代表性的物品之一 —— 灯笼。其中，灯笼因寒风刮袭而向右倾斜，但让人敬佩的是灯笼仍然高挂在上，逆风中也依旧坚持不懈，绽放光芒。这寓意着理大中华文化艺术坊的坊员们，无论传承中华文化的路途上多么坎坷、荆棘，坊员们都无所畏惧，拼搏到最后一刻，视文化为精神，传承为责任！ 


The main colour of USM SKKT logo is red which represents the favorite colour of the Chinese and is also a symbol of Chinese culture. The red colour expresses the enthusiasm of the committee members towards the precious Chinese culture. Besides, red colour also creates a cheerful and auspicious atmosphere while inheriting the Chinese culture.

In addition, the USM SKKT logo is inspired by the traditional Chinese lantern design concept. The design emulates the round Chinese lantern with the ribbons at the bottom, which is one of the most representative items in Chinese culture. As we can see from the logo, the Chinese lantern is tilted to the right due to the windswept, however, the Chinese lantern still hangs high and perseveres unremittingly in the headwind and blooms. This implies that our committee members will be fearless and brave when dealing with the bumpy and thorny challenges in the journey of inheriting Chinese culture as preserving and inheriting the Chinese culture is our responsibility!

黑色带有传统意义，也是严肃与高贵的象征。黑色简单带出了本坊对于任何事情的处事方法都抱有认真不苟的态度，绝不马虎了事。从徽标分析，本坊名字以黑色着手，主要是把黑色比喻成墨汁。墨汁是中国文房四宝之一，带有浓厚的书香味，于此一笔，蕴意着本坊铭记宝物需代代相传，并时刻提醒着自己莫忘初衷。最后，以黑色为主色的“理大中华文化艺术坊”九字，正正表达了坊员以认真的态度经营及建立坊会，不允许任何的侵袭或伤害，以确保中华文化能够继续发扬光大。 


Black has traditional meaning and is also a symbol of seriousness and nobility. Black brings out that USM SKKT is meticulous and attentive towards everything. From the logo, the name of USM SKKT ‘理大中华文化艺术坊’ is presented in black in which black symbolizes Chinese black ink. Ink is one of the four treasures of the Chinese study, which represents the original intention of USM SKKT to pass down the Chinese traditions from generation to generation. Finally, the words ‘理大中华文化艺术坊’ in black expresses the fact that the committee members of USM SKKT work hard to ensure that the Chinese culture continue to flourish.

黄色是古老中国的颜色代表，为本坊徽标添加了几笔色彩。此外，黄色代表了坚定与智慧，带出了本坊在保持不灭的信念 —— 坚持传承中华文化的同时，不盲目横冲直撞，而是秉有智慧，有计划即有效地向本地大众宣扬中华文化。从徽标的设计来看，黄色集中于正中心。于此，黄色代表了光明，也是传承的灯火。这一点光明足以点亮身边与周边的人和事，也能用以点缀红色灯笼，即便是小小一笔，也足以影响整体美感与意义。 


Yellow is the colour which represents ancient China, adding some yellow colour into the logo brightens up the logo and makes it more colourful. In addition, yellow represents the spirit of staunch and wisdom. It shows our mission in maintaining and adhering to the inheritance of Chinese culture. Members are always well-planned in inheriting and promoting Chinese culture to the local public. From the design of the logo, the yellow colour is set at the centre of the logo to represent the flame of the Chinese lantern. This little flame is enough to light up the people and things around us, and it can also be used to decorate the red Chinese lantern.
